Since the 80s, these four Teenage Turtles have taken the world and the sewers by storm. They have made numerous comebacks in the form of TV shows, movies, and now video games. From the comic books to the vast array of video games, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael have helped shape pop culture and done their fair share of entertaining children and adults across the globe.

The TMNT games have all offered up something different over the years. Let’s take a look at the turtle powers available to you as well as the 2024 addition: Splintered Fate.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (1991)

Definitely one of the most well-known and well-loved nostalgia games out there, this arcade game paved the way. Turtles in Time was introduced to arcade gamers initially but eventually found its way to the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) for more to enjoy.

Navigate your way through different historical eras whilst trying to locate the notorious Shredder. This game is a perfect encapsulation of nostalgia with its bright colours, pixelated graphics and fun multiplayer combat action. This game has a soft spot in most gamers’ hearts.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003)

This entry was released after the animated TV series went down a treat with fans. Gamers had access to the game on PS2, Xbox and the well-known GameCube. Players felt like they were a part of their new favourite TV series and could explore the different turtles’ powers and fighting abilities,

The attractive multiplayer feature meant that you and your friends could attack the Foot Clan as a team and take them out for good!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2013)

This game decided to leave behind the nostalgic colour and bright noises in exchange for a darker aesthetic that feels closer to the sewer lighting. The change in aesthetics, as well as the improvement of graphics, boosted this game’s popularity significantly and allowed players to switch between turtles as they pleased.

The co-op and combo system game was available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (2022)

The 2022 game said ’let’s take it back’ and really hit the nostalgia button. Shredders Revenge has the perfect balance of retro vibes and classic arcade combat but with a modern finish.

Tribute Games and Dotemu created a beautiful work of pixelated art that still felt updated and refreshed. Players could take part in a team co-op with 5 of their friends and could use both local and online features. The arcade experience with a modern twist is definitely unique to the series of games and created something really special for fans around the world.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate (2024)

The latest to join the series of TMNT games is Splintered Fate. This game takes players in a completely different direction from the previous instalments in that it introduces role-playing elements. The game is open-world, features puzzle-solving and has a deep narrative which players can explore whilst taking part in dynamic combat against enemies.

There are new characters to get to know but the TMNT locations and elements are still respected. Immerse yourself in the story and the virtual world and let us know if this TMNT game is your fan favourite.

There’s no picking a favorite when it comes to the turtles and the same idea can be applied to the games that have been created because of them. All of the turtles have their own unique personality and traits and so do these top notch games. Whether you like a bit of nostalgia or are into the more modern classics, there is a TMNT game for you to enjoy and love. Cowabunga dudes!
