More Layoffs in Gaming — And This Time it Really Doesn't Make Sense

Plus: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and Avowed reviews.

Hey Guys! We're back with some more bit size news to get your pulses racing. This week's roundup looks at new CoD skins, unfortunately we discuss more layoffs (boo), we reveal some new characters, and take a look at the latest Fortnite trailer!

Shelling Out For New CoD Skins

There is no denying that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins on the Call of Duty season 2 update look amazing. Each turtle will come with their own set of skills and there are also specific weapons and cosmetics you can collect. But are they worth the hefty price tag that comes with them? To get all four of your turtles in a shell, you will have to shell out around $100.

Look Who's Leaving Xbox

As more new games get added to the Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft revealed recently that some would also be leaving so free up some space. One of the franchises hit hardest by the news will be Yakuza, as several titles fall off the Xbox Pass rader. But fear not fans, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is one of the titles taking their place. Also being added will be Avowed and Eiyuden Chronicle.

Marvel Rivals Layoffs

Layoffs in the gaming industry are nothing new unfortunately and the news doesn't really come as a surprise these days. However, what is a surprise is to see layoffs at a studio that is performing well! The director of one of the branches behind the successful Marvel Rivals franchise took to social media to announce that both him and his team had been let go. And at the same time NetEnt were unveiling two new characters that were being added to the game in the form of Human Torch and The Thing. Not great timing NetEnt. It just goes to show, there are no guarantees in this industry.

Two New Genshin Characters Making an Impact

HoYoVerse can never be discredited with standing still or resting on their laurels. That's because just as one new Genshin Impact update drops, they're teasing us about the next one. The 5.5 update is set to feature two new characters in the form of Iansan and Varesa. At this point we don't know what rank they will be but what we do know is that both will be Electro characters from the Natlan Collective of Plenty Tribe. The official art for both characters looks amazing and fans can't wait for the next update to arrive.

Fortnite Spoiling the Fun

The new Fortnite trailer has been released and fans around the world are going nuts! The trailer reveals five new gameplay spoilers that feature a lot of new weapons. These include the first ever dual-wield shotgun, a new laser beam weapon which is another first, Thermite bombs, and the return of the Sticky Grenade Launcher. While these haven't been official announced by Epic the trailer was a dead give away.

It appears that some franchises don't often know where to draw the line on success. They have a Blueprint that works and they seem to flog it until it dies. So with that in mind, is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii a step too far? Well It's unlikely to be anyone's favourite game from the series but as a side story it's good fun. It's packed with Epic battles and side activities that will keep you entertained.
