The gaming world’s version of the Oscars, The Game Awards, is almost upon us, and the nominations have been revealed. Despite some controversy about some changed rules here and there, the awards ceremony will be a much-needed celebration after a tough year for video gaming. WHY PAY FULL PRICE?

With digital games vanishing from accounts, like Ubisoft’s The Crew earlier this year, I’m leaning toward physical copies—pricier, but safe. Here are the week’s best game deals, including physical copies at 50% off in Amazon’s early Black Friday sale, plus some unbeatable digital deals too!

  1. Metaphor: ReFantazio $69.99 $49.99 on Amazon.

  2. Armored Core VI, the essential mecha combat game with Soulslike difficulty, has reached one of its lowest prices ever, $59.99 $19.99 also on Amazon.

  3. Unicorn Overlord, likely the best tactical RPG released in 2024, is cheaper than ever, at $59.99 $29.99, on Amazon.

  4. Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is great if you like long, turn-based JRPGs, since it’s now longer than ever with improved mechanics and extra content. Now $59.99 $24.99 on Amazon.

  5. The big sports games of the 2024-2025 season are all on sale, all on Amazon

  6. Humble Bundle’s Sid Meier’s Collection bundle, including Civilization VI and DLCs, for $397 $18.

  7. Also on Humble Bundle, the Telltale Collection bundle, including Batman, The Wolf Among Us, and my personal favorite, The Walking Dead. For $144 $12.

The Missing Link in Kingdom Hearts will continue to be missing for quite some time. With no development end date in sight, things are looking pretty dire for fans of Kingdom Hearts. Despite a beta testing launch, the mobile game Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link doesn’t seem to be sticking to its promised launch date. The public statement didn’t give away too much as to why there would be delays, but it seems we won’t see the game in 2024. Find out more here

Black Ops 6 Update Fixes All

Pleasing everyone in a gaming community is no easy feat. With the new CoD update, Activision might have achieved the almost impossible. The new patch update isn’t anything major, but it will make a few unhappy campers a little happier. After taking previously earned tokens away from players, Activision has decided to reinstate the rule that XP tokens earned in previous titles, as well as Warzone, can ultimately be used in the latest edition. This changes the game for those who have been hoarding XP tokens for weapon XP, level XP and so on. Read about it here.

A Realm Reborn Goes Mobile

Mobile games have been finding a lot of success lately, and with the huge success of Final Fantasy XIV on PC for many years, it’s no surprise that it’s getting its mobile makeover. FFXIV Mobile is currently in development, meaning that we will most likely start to see hints of an MMORPG experience there. There’s even a trailer, but it makes no hint at what kind of gameplay experience we can expect. For all the information we have so far, as well as a statement from the developers, click here

Half-Life 20?

It was 20 years ago that a revolutionary form of gameplay was presented to a very hungry audience, and it still gives us chills! The facial animation system alone could be studied and will be studied for years to come. Despite hackers and an unexpected setback, this game still managed to change the gaming world. The graphics are a bit dated, but this game still remains a piece of history that Valve will work on even further for its 20th anniversary. Read about its troubled history and what’s to come soon here.

A revolution of its time, this game has changed the way we involve strategy and skill. “STALKER 2 motivates me to improve myself by relying on risking it all to get new gear and using the experience I’ve built up along the way.”
